Jumpin on the ePub bandwagon

Wednesday, Google announced their large book archive is now available in the ePub format. See http://booksearch.blogspot.com/2009/08/download-over-million-public-domain.html for more details.

And Sony broght out a wireless capable eReader this week, which also uses the ePub format. See: http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/25/sony-announces-daily-edition-reader/

So the question is - when will Amazon support the ePub format on the Kindle reader?

There are third party folks who have ways to convert ePub to formats that will work on Kindles.

Here's an interesting video of Jesse Vincent talking about the Kindle's linux elements.

Jesse's blog is at http://blog.fsck.com/

Here's an article on a report that considers reason why the Kindle should be sold at Wal-Marts. But I wonder if production levels are up to that yet?

My Q4 wishes for the Kindle: Support ePub immediately and get in WalMart for black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving).

I've been listening to the Len Edgerly Kindle Chronicles podcast since I got my Kindle - I highly recommend it.

Peace,
Kathy
